i'm thankful that last night i wondered whether a hip hop song had ever sampled the theme to welcome back kotter and i'm thankful that i found this old mase song (spotify, yt), which is back to front joy, strutty piano comping, izzo hova string streaks, not one or two but three different flavors of interpolation (the last one a children's choir). i'm thankful that "it feels good to hear people singing welcome back" and i 'm thankful to recommend it if you need a pick me up (and don't we all, always).
